We’re looking forward to the August 2020 opening of our Comprehensive Reproductive Health Center at 1203 Poplar Ave. which will include a licensed Birth Center with three garden view birthing suites.

Providers of Midwifery & Birth Center Services
Dr. Nikia Grayson, DNP MPH CNM FNP, is a public health activist, anthropologist and nurse midwife who has devoted her life to serving and empowering people in underserved and marginalized communities. Nikia has more than 10 years experience working in public health, with her more recent work focusing on reproductive rights, birth justice, and midwifery. She is passionate about ensuring all persons have the rights and means to make decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health.
Kemetra King, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife with over 10 years of women’s health nursing experience. She has a Master’s in nursing education and taught nursing at a collegiate level for six years. Most recently she received a second master’s of nursing in Midwifery. She is devoted to the field of women’s health and is especially passionate about working with under-served populations. Kemetra is committed to providing compassionate care for her patients, and to advocating for women and their families throughout the lifespan.
Talita Oseguera (CNM, WHNP-BC) (She/Her) is a Certified Nurse Midwife and reproductive justice advocate. She has a background in community-based health care centered on equity and the advancement of historically marginalized groups, empowerment of women, and partnership with families. She has been a full-spectrum doula since 2013 and has devoted her professional and academic career to both birth and research justice. Talita is committed to improving reproductive justice, honoring and amplifying the voices, experiences, and issues of Black women and individuals across the sexual, reproductive and perinatal continuum, moving alongside birth workers of color who reflect the communities they serve, improving care for and with Black women and individuals, and keeping birth sacred.
Dr. Ashekia Pinckney (MD) (She/Her), is CHOICES’ Clinical Director of Midwifery and Birth Center Services. She practices with the University of Tennessee Regional One Physicians, and served as Administrative Chief of the UT Health Sciences Center Obstetrics and Gynecology Program. Dr. Pinckney is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She is the recipient of a National Faculty Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching from the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and received the Excellence in Clinical Medicine Award from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center.
Brooke Prudhomme (CPM-TN) (She/Her) is a Certified Professional Midwife licensed by the state of Tennessee. She is thrilled to be a part of the strong and knowledgeable team of experienced midwives at CHOICES, all of whom bring their brilliance and devotion to reproductive and birth justice as a platform for empowerment and social change. Brooke has over a decade of experience serving our Memphis community as a doula, childbirth educator, and a midwife. She is passionate about teaching the community about the pregnancy and birthing mechanisms of their amazing bodies, and she is committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to birthing people that is rooted in consent.
