If I am under 18 years old, do I have to bring my parent with me?
For Abortion Appointments
In the state of Tennessee, anyone under the age of 18 must have consent from their parent or guardian or have a judicial bypass. If you have any questions, just give us a call at 901-274-3550.
For Other Appointments
In the state of Tennessee anyone over the age of 13 can consent to reproductive health exams, birth control, and STD testing without parental consent. We encourage you to discuss your reproductive health issues and/or your plans for contraception with your parents, and they are welcome to attend your reproductive health visit with you. If there is some reason you don’t believe their presence or involvement would be in your best interest, however, you can access reproductive health care on your own or with a friend.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Choices wants you to have the information you need to make safe and effective decisions. If bringing a friend makes you more comfortable, let us know. We are here to support you.
Can we set up a group event?
YES! If you are a teen, or the parent of a teen, and you think it would be beneficial to have a group session on sexual activity and health, please contact Katy Leopard at email@example.com to set up a group event.

There are 3 methods that do not require regular maintenance. Each has a very high efficacy rate and that efficacy rate does not depend at all on how well the person uses it. These are:
Collectively, these methods are referred to as LARCs (long-acting reversible contraceptives). All of these methods can be safely used by teens and all of these methods have less than a 1% failure rate for typical users. Once these methods are in place, the user does not have to do anything else to ensure its proper use.
